The "Apothecary Kitchen "
Series
These classes are more
'hands-on' as we discuss and demonstrate how to make your own Kitchen remedies.
The Beginner
class starts out simply with soothing salves/balms and health-supportive baths/washes.
Next, the Intermediate class moves on to syrups, soothing throat lozenges and
tasty pom-'em style herb 'balls'. The Advanced class concludes with healing
plasters, poultices and compresses, therapeutic creams and lotions, and stimulating liniments for sore
muscles.
As an added bonus, sometimes a medicinal 'liqueur' is worked into
these classes to help drive home the point that making your health remedies need not be
boring!
Specific remedies for women's
issues are covered in a separate class.
*NOTE: It is important and
helpful to have a core understanding of medicinal botanicals - and their actions and activity within
the body systems - in order to create useful and effective home remedies. This series is meant as
a compliment to the Herbs 101: "Spice Rack as Medicine Cabinet" Forum, but can also be tailored as a
practical stand-alone series.
