The "Apothecary Kitchen " Series

These classes are more 'hands-on' as we discuss and demonstrate how to make your own Kitchen remedies.

The Beginner class starts out simply with soothing salves/balms and health-supportive baths/washes.  Next, the Intermediate class moves on to  syrups, soothing throat lozenges and tasty pom-'em style herb 'balls'.   The Advanced class concludes with healing plasters, poultices and compresses, therapeutic creams and lotions, and stimulating liniments for sore muscles.

As an added bonus, sometimes a medicinal 'liqueur' is worked into these classes to help drive home the point that making your health remedies need not be boring!

Specific remedies for women's issues are covered in a separate class.

*NOTE:  It is important and helpful to have a core understanding of medicinal botanicals - and their actions and activity within the body systems - in order to create useful and effective home remedies.  This series is meant as a compliment to the Herbs 101: "Spice Rack as Medicine Cabinet" Forum, but can also be tailored as a practical stand-alone series.

Dear Emily,
Thank you for opening me to the world of herbs. With the use of Amla, Ashwagandha and Chaste Tree I have been feeling much better. It has not only helped me physically but also emotionally. I feel more energetic and upbeat. I honestly believe that your knowledge of herbs is wide and deep. I look forward to continue these herbs and see you again for consultation in near future. Best of luck!

Dear Donna-
Thank you so much for recommending Tea Tree Oil for the chronic rash on my son's abdomen. After going to the pediatrician and multiple dermatologists and spending hundreds of dollars on creams, powders and potions ~ we had just about resigned ourselves that he would just have to live with it. We felt we had nothing to lose when you suggested the Tea Tree Oil. What a miracle it has been, it was cleared up after 3 applications!! Thanks again - no more scratching!!!!
PS- My husband is also hooked - he puts Tea Tree Oil on his tooth brush every day!!

Donna-
I wanted to thank you for recommending the chickweed compresses for the black fly bites that covered my arms and neck. It relieved the welts, itching and redness within minutes and spared me hours of discomfort.

Dear Donna-

After recently twisting my knee, you had suggested using Arnica montana homeopathic pellets and the curcumin (tumeric). I was greatly impressed with the rapid improvement of my mobility. That was a Saturday morning: by Monday I was able to go on a family outing that included much walking up and down hills and stairways. I was able to keep up with everyone and not miss out on any of the activities. THANK YOU!!!.
