Independent Holistic Practitioners

Herbalism, also known as Herbal Medicine and Phytotherapy, is a folk and traditional medicinal practice based on the use of plants and plant extracts, and is the oldest system of medicine in the world. More than merely the use of “plants as crude drugs”, one of the central tenets traditional herbal practices is that the whole plant often contains synergistic compounds resulting in greater effectiveness and fewer undesirable “side effects” than any single chemical isolate or synthetic analogue.

Herbalists are individuals skilled in the Art, Craft, and Science of Herbalism; the traditional use of plants and their healing properties. Many herbalists, more than simply studied in the use of medicinal plants, operate within a particular cultural and philosophical framework that recognizes the spiritual and energetic aspects of the body and the role they play in health. Herbs, and other naturally derived products, will form the core of any herbalist's program but depending on the herbalist's philosophical tradition and training, they may also recommend dietary changes and eating guidelines, supplements, flower essences, meditation, acupuncture, yoga, massage, exercise, or other holistic modality much as many Naturopaths.

Dear Emily,
Thank you for opening me to the world of herbs. With the use of Amla, Ashwagandha and Chaste Tree I have been feeling much better. It has not only helped me physically but also emotionally. I feel more energetic and upbeat. I honestly believe that your knowledge of herbs is wide and deep. I look forward to continue these herbs and see you again for consultation in near future. Best of luck!

Dear Donna-
Thank you so much for recommending Tea Tree Oil for the chronic rash on my son's abdomen. After going to the pediatrician and multiple dermatologists and spending hundreds of dollars on creams, powders and potions ~ we had just about resigned ourselves that he would just have to live with it. We felt we had nothing to lose when you suggested the Tea Tree Oil. What a miracle it has been, it was cleared up after 3 applications!! Thanks again - no more scratching!!!!
PS- My husband is also hooked - he puts Tea Tree Oil on his tooth brush every day!!

Donna-
I wanted to thank you for recommending the chickweed compresses for the black fly bites that covered my arms and neck. It relieved the welts, itching and redness within minutes and spared me hours of discomfort.

Dear Donna-

After recently twisting my knee, you had suggested using Arnica montana homeopathic pellets and the curcumin (tumeric). I was greatly impressed with the rapid improvement of my mobility. That was a Saturday morning: by Monday I was able to go on a family outing that included much walking up and down hills and stairways. I was able to keep up with everyone and not miss out on any of the activities. THANK YOU!!!.
